Barnard Pacific Language Academy held its second Spring Fling Dance, and this year the theme was 80s. Barnard is an elementary school, kindergarten through fifth grade, and this party was attended by both students and parents.
Since I had not played an 80s dance for an elementary school in the past, I assumed I would play a little 80s to go along with the theme, but the majority of the night would be current hits. Seeing by the setlist I started by mixing the two, but soon realized there was such a good response to the 80s music and continued playing it the rest of the night.
This night was a lot of fun, and it was so nice to see parents and kids enjoying themselves together. Because we all know, they are not going to want their parents at their high school dances.
