Lawrence and Katie’s Dance Party - Loews Coronado Wedding

Everything is relative, but Lawrence and Katie had a big wedding, that's assuming 250+ guests is "big" to you. But that means a great party with so many friends and family.

Their reception took place at the Loews Coronado Bay Hotel. It was mid afternoon, but inside the massive ballroom you could have guessed the party was well into the late evening. Uplighting and a beautifully decorated/orchestrated by the talent of Crown Weddings.

Matthew and Felicia’s Dance Party - Hotel Del Coronado Wedding

Custom signage set guests on the right path at Matt and Felicia's Hotel Del Coronado wedding. 

In a way it was fitting that I DJ’d Matthew and Felicia’s wedding at the beautiful Hotel Del Coronado. The couple actually works at the Del and it was where they met, fell in love and of course shared their vows to each other.

The reason it was fitting, for me, is the Del is probably the venue I’ve DJ’d/MC’d the most weddings at. I do not have an official count, but looking back on the past 14 years, I know I’ve been a part of many. It’s a place where I truly honed my craft as a DJ and MC. In a way I found my love for DJing at this place, in the same spirit Matthew and Felicia found their love for each other.

The ceremony took place on the beach and just a few steps away, on the Windsor Lawn, was where their reception and dance party took place. Del weddings are always a magical, but there is something extra special on nights like this. A perfect Fall evening in Southern California with a Pacific Ocean backdrop and a great group of people having fun and celebrating love!

Yoga Flow in the Dark - Ivivva Westfield UTC

San Diego based yoga DJ Justin Kanoya DJ's the Flow in the Dark event at Westfield UTC.

I've been working with Ivivva on various events the past year. This is a great company with a mission to empower young girls to be their best self. It's also perfect that I have a 10-year-old daughter that would likely be going to these events anyway ... oh, and she loves their clothes.

Flow in the Dark took place on October 28, 2016 in a large outdoor section of the Westfield UTC mall. Pottery Barn Kids as well as Travis Matthew brought out furniture and other activities for attendees to check out before the yoga party got started.

Outfitted with glow bracelets and necklaces, the girls were guided through a 45 minute yoga session by April Mosebrook and Jessica Ann Hetzer. Check out the music below.

Sheri Matthews - my friend, spin instructor, runner, encourager, multi brand ambassador (notably Fitbit and Lululemon) -- is running the New York City Marathon. She runs a lot of racers, but this particular one is in recognition for the Challenge Athletes Foundation, an amazing organization that provide opportunities and support to people with physical challenges, so they can pursue active lifestyles through physical fitness and competitive athletics.

While many people run marathons to meet personal goals, Sheri’s primary reason for running the NYC marathon was to raise awareness and funds for the CAF. When I heard her fundraising efforts were carrying over to a spin cycling class she was leading at the Rush Studio in La Jolla I knew I wanted to be a part of that.

So Sheri and I once again shared a stage where she led a sweat inducing workout and I kept her riders motivated with some intense tunes.

And, BTW, Sheri did awesome in NYC, with another sub-four hour marathon finish and a cool picture with Meb Keflezighi.

Becky and Adam’s Dance Party; Slow Motion Video - Marina Village Wedding

Adam and Becky’s October, 14, 2016 wedding party was truly an international affair. They had their ceremony and reception at Marina Village in San Diego. The couple, who live in Australia, had guests descend upon San Diego (where Becky grew up) from all over the world. There were friends from Australia, New Zealand and all over the U.S. In fact this was reflected in their grand entrance when we played entrance music specific to the geographic locations that members of the wedding party were from.

It was nice where Kiwi and Australian music tracks were dropped. We event had the slow motion video booth set-up. Check out the video and music setlist below.
