Becky and Adam’s Dance Party; Slow Motion Video - Marina Village Wedding

Adam and Becky’s October, 14, 2016 wedding party was truly an international affair. They had their ceremony and reception at Marina Village in San Diego. The couple, who live in Australia, had guests descend upon San Diego (where Becky grew up) from all over the world. There were friends from Australia, New Zealand and all over the U.S. In fact this was reflected in their grand entrance when we played entrance music specific to the geographic locations that members of the wedding party were from.

It was nice where Kiwi and Australian music tracks were dropped. We event had the slow motion video booth set-up. Check out the video and music setlist below.

These two were married after 25 years of partnership ... so wonderful!

Monique and Emily met more than two decades ago when attending the University of California - San Diego. It was only fitting that they returned to La Jolla (they currently reside in Georgia) to marry one another at the Martin Johnson House on October 13, 2016.

This perfect evening (weather, food, ambience) was shared with many family and friends, including Monique and Emily’s two amazing kids who definitely got many of the guests dancing. Their ceremony and reception all took place at the Martin Johnson House, overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Scripps Pier. It was a magical night.

The 17th San Diego Asian Film Festival takes place November 3-12, 2016.

Brick in Liberty Station was the venue that the 2016 Chew The Scene event took place. 

The Pacific Arts Movement’s Chew The Scene Event is a sign of two things … good food and the annual San Diego Asian Film Festival is just around the corner. ‘Chew,’ which took place on October 11 at Brick Event Center, serves as the official kick off event to the festival, now in its 17th year.

The event combines food and drink tastings while giving attendees first opportunity in San Diego to preview the film festival’s lineup of films and programs. I was there to set the tone with music and lighting, in cooperation with San Diego Event Pros.

Rachel and Doug’s Dance Party - Oceanview Wedding

I had a an amazing time planning and DJing Rachel and Doug's dance party.

Rachel and I connected many months ago as she was in the early stages of her wedding planning. She had a genuine interest in wanting me to be “her wedding DJ.” When I learned more about her and Doug, each performers in the Dirty Dancing touring group, life long singers/performers and she was also a former Lululemon educator, I knew I wanted to be her DJ.

While she and Doug did the majority of their planning while touring the country and from their home in New York City, it always felt natural to connect with them and ensure all of the music and lighting details of their event were just right.

As an added bonus, I even got to play a couple of popular tunes from Dirty Dancing, which even included recreating that iconic moment with Doug lifting Rachel up during “I’ve Had The Time of My Life” ala Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey.

Erik and Melanie have their first dance as husband wife at their Luce Loft wedding. 

Erik and Melanie are a couple I met through the my workout group November Project. We’ve spent many early mornings running hills and executing not so perfect burpees. We’ve raced alongside each other and event traveled to Salt Lake City to run the trails of the North Face Endurace Challenge.

So things were a bit changed up on their wedding day, October 8, 2016. It’s always fun celebrating with friends and friends of friends. This party took place at Luce Loft in downtown San Diego, a great venue for anyone looking to put on an event with an urban flavor.

In addition to DJ and MC service, I provided uplighting and pin spotting (highlighting the cake and a custom piece of artwork).
